Search Engine Keywords Threaten Domain Names

November 09, 1998 in News

Dan Parisi, renounced cybersquatter, and owner of hundreds of domain names, is gearing up for a lawsuit against search engines and browser companies. The chief complaint is that browsers are getting ready to use keywords to take web surfers to specific sites instead of taking them to specific domains. Parisi claims this will make it easy for companies with deep pockets to keep visitors going to their own sites, and make easy-to-remember urls (like the famous whitehouse.com domain owned by Parisi and set up as a pornography site) obsolete.
