Broadband provider’s claim that domain name server software could be slowing down their superfast speeds. A report issued by Nominum, a company that sells DNS server software, says that all the money spent on increased speeds will not make a difference if the speed of DNS isn’t improved. According to Paul Mockapetris, “Broadband providers should also spend some money adding more DNS capability. Pure bandwidth doesn’t solve the problem if the DNS servers can’t respond quickly.”
