DodiAlfayed.com Ownership Challenged and Father Wins Rights

March 18, 2000 in News

The site DodiAlfayed.com was registered by a man from Dayton, Ohio and then almost immediately put up for sale on GreatDomains.com for $500,000. The name Dodi Al Fayed was made famous when Mohamed Al Fayed (nicknamed Dodi) died in the car crash with Princess Diana. The name was registered as a European Community trademark in January 1999, but the Dayton cybersquatter had registered the domain name in October that year. The father of Dodi received legal rights to the domain name.
